Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Petersburg is changing that outcome for those in need, by providing free medical services.

May 05, 2022 – Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center is on the Move: The New Tampa Location
On February 11, 2022, Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center – Tampa hosted an Open House and a Blessing Ceremony for new, spacious offices located in a more accessible, client-friendly location on N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa. In front of staff, clients and guests, long-time supporter, Rev. John Lipscomb, performed the Blessing Ceremony.
April 29, 2022 – Living What You Learn: Catholic Students’ Call to Service
On March 8, fourteen students from Tampa Catholic High School visited to volunteer as they sought to live their faith. Tampa Hope is a shelter for adult, homeless community members of the City of Tampa that Catholic Charities opened on December 13, 2021. The day was the idea of Maggie Rogers, Catholic Charities’ Executive Director, whose son is a Tampa Catholic student. Said, Mrs. Rogers, “ the idea came from my son, who told me that ‘Tampa Catholic exists to glorify God’ and that one of those ways ‘is serving the community.’”
April 25, 2022 – An Egg-stra Special Easter – Easter Basket of Plenty Event
On Holy Saturday, April 16, 2022, low-income farm worker families gathered at the San Jose Mission to receive Easter Baskets, see the Easter Bunny, enjoy refreshments and hunt for Easter Eggs.
April 21, 2022 – Families Flourish at the Pasco Family Shelter: Six Months Celebration
Catholic Charities Pasco Family Shelter, now celebrating six months of operations, opened October 2021. Community members, parishioners from local parishes, staff members from the Coalition for the Homeless of Pasco County and Pasco County’s Community Development Department joined Catholic Charities for ‘National Community Development Week’ at the Pasco Family Shelter Open House on April 13, 2022 to learn about the success of the shelter through its first six months of operation. According to C.E.O Coalition of the Homeless of Pasco County Don Anderson, “I believe the results speak for themselves.”
March 23, 2022 – Lunches During Lent: Students Make Sandwiches for the Homeless
Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School K-8 students made 350 bagged lunches for the formerly homeless men and women of Tampa Hope during a Lenten Retreat Service Project on March 8, 2022.
January 21, 2022 – My Heart Beats in the Image and Likeness of God
Pink and blue flags stand proudly along Boyette Road! In memory of the 63 million babies lost since the 1973 Supreme Court ruling of Roe vs Wade legalized abortion across the land, white remembrance crosses with pink and blue flags are displayed along the St. Stephen Catholic Church property adjacent to Boyette Road. The Annual Memorial to the Unborn promotes pro-life discussions and prayer within families.

Where there is smoke, there is BBQ! Mission BBQ served a mouthwatering barbecue feast to the formerly homeless men and women, including many veterans, at Tampa Hope on Monday, January 10, 2022.
January 12, 2022 – A Tale of Two Christmases
Within the past two months Catholic Charities opened two emergency shelters for the homeless. Pasco Family Shelter in Port Richey opened October 20th for homeless families in Pasco County. Tampa Hope opened on December 13th for homeless men and women residents of the City of Tampa.

Santa, Cookies and Gifts, Oh My! Farmworker families living at the San Jose Mission gathered at the mission’s community center for their Annual Christmas Party and Ribbon Cutting Reveal of a new computer lab on December 18, 2021. Children eagerly lined up for presents, pictures with Santa, goodies and to see their new computer lab.
